#LostInEurope

A Solo Overlanding Expedition by Jamila Faber

ABOUT ME

My name is Jamila Faber, and I am from Luxembourg. I have been born and raised in the UAE and drive a manual Nissan Patrol y61. I have been off-roading and overlanding since I was a child, greatly influenced by my father. I have been tackling the harshest terrains in the UAE, Oman and Saudi Arabia. The next stage is to go ahead and explore routes to Europe. Since my heritage is western European, although my home is Dubai, UAE, I would love to make it with my 4x4 to Luxembourg. Along the way I want to explore the different countries. Be it Kuwait, Iraq, Turkey, Bulgaria, Romania, Serbia, Slovenia, North Italy, Austria, Germany, Switzerland and then Luxembourg. On my way there, I want to explore each country, see the hidden paths, and connect with the people and bring a bit of Dubai, a bit of Nissan, a bit of my own spirit to these countries and document everything and every moment to the best of my abilities.

IT’s a journey to connect cultures, challenge limits,

and share the spirit of adventure with the world

ROUTE

The exact route is still being finalized, but the plan is to travel from Saudi Arabia through Kuwait, Iraq, Turkey, Bulgaria, Romania, Serbia, Slovenia, North Italy, Austria, Germany, Switzerland, France, Belgium, and finally arrive in Luxembourg. After the trip, the car will likely be shipped back to the UAE from the Netherlands.

TIMELINE

The journey will take around two and a half to three weeks, starting in mid-July and ending in early August. Due to extreme heat in Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, and Iraq, I’ll be staying in hotels for that part of the trip. Once I reach Turkey, I plan to camp throughout the rest of the journey wherever it is allowed.

TERRAIN

The terrain will range from harsh deserts in the Middle East to cooler mountains, forests, and grasslands in Europe. This journey will challenge my endurance, deepen cultural connections, and mark the start of many more overlanding adventures in my Nissan Patrol Y61.
