Meet Jamila Faber — The Spirit Behind @lostinthegcc

I’m Jamila, the woman behind Lost in the GCC — a solo overlander, content creator, and lifelong explorer of the vast landscapes and cultures of the Arabian Peninsula.

Raised in the UAE, born in Luxembourg, and deeply shaped by my father’s off-road legacy, I’ve been tackling tough terrain since childhood in my Nissan Patrol Y61. What began with weekends in the dunes has become something much more — a journey of self-reliance, cultural immersion, and raw storytelling.

The Expedition: #LostInEurope

This summer I’ll embark on my boldest journey yet — an overland route through Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Iraq, Turkey, Bulgaria, Romania, Serbia, Slovenia, Italy, Austria, Germany, Switzerland, France, Belgium, and Luxembourg.

Desert heat, alpine climbs, local food, backroad repairs and off-grid nights — all part of a three-week adventure in motion. I’ll sleep in my car, camp when I can, and keep rolling forward.
